History of Grama Panchayat
There is evidence to suggest that the Kuruvattoor region was under the control of the Porlathiri dynasty during the early period. Historians believe that the Poloor Temple in Kuruvattoor was established during the reign of the Porlathiris.
The region, characterised by hills and rivers, was later associated with the Zamorin dynasty. The Theyyam festivals conducted in the old Nair ancestral houses in the area provide a significant indication of this historical connection.
There is a place called **Kacheri Kunnu** in the Poloor area, located near the Poloor Temple. Historical records indicate that, during the period of ancient royal rule, *kacheri* offices were established near temples to administer royal affairs. The existence of Kacheri Kunnu near the Poloor Temple is considered an indication of this historical administrative system.
